I'd love to see your 60s footage... First you've gotta get it digitized and into the computer, then you can choose between youtube, google video, brightcove, etc.

The online video world is changing very fast, maybe by the time you're ready to upload there will be something better :D

If you are using Windows XP most of the new camcorders can be directly connected using a USB/mini-USB cable and the video imported using Windows Movie Maker (which is free with Windows XP).

I have an old super 8 movie I had converted to VHS. It was from the first earth day in 1969..[i think]. Its hysterical, we were the original school Hippies in our Junior High
I have another old films from our VietNam protest days. I showed them to my kids and they almost died laughing. I told them they were just jealous that I got to grow up in DC during such an adventure time.

I had the only Mother back then that their kid protesting by the time I was 8 yrs old. She also took us on a tour of the Martin Luther King riots when DC was ablaze. I remember looking out the car window at all the fires. It made quite an impression on me. So did the Military Police that stopped us and threatened to arrest my Mother...I remember him asking my Mother if she had lost her mind..

QWAK,MrFreeze, Thanks and that IS part of the plan. My question is mostly what camcorder to buy Tigerdirect.com has a large asortment and range of prices and has me a tat confused --- hay it HAPPENS -- even for a DUCK now and then.:s9:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ame=Camcorders

Just want to do simple at first, mostly just some great old songs that are long gone and forgotten but also to show a fiew of the projects I have built or am working on.

GIM is a great place to set up a net work of like minded people and strong bonds made now can be very valuable later IF we can still share as the CRUNCH continues.:s9:

Will we even get to see the soup vat?:bath:

QWAK,Max,Actualy YOU sort of gve me the IDEA:wink:

Got a song about an average guy who just likes to FLY and thinks he is a GOOSE, but it's OK, because people LET him think hes a GOOSE and it don't hurt no body -- him thinking hes a GOOSE! HE HE HE :D

Got a great one for KEEF and another TWO for twisted Avatar and one for Avalon!:s9:

I plan to post to U-tube and call them "Music from the DUCKS NEST"

Being a little crazy is a GOOD thing, as there are so many more FUN things to do!:haha:

Max,I think I may be able to do that NOW but you got to fill out a little form I believe should only take a fiew seconds!

Most of the storm went around the DUCK NEST but it is headed east and is kicking ass bad today.

The Duck leaves a different footprint, for certain. Bring it on Duckmanboy!

I'm old enough to remember music from the 60s. Love it. I was listening to a CD this morning from the early 70s. A band called Captain Beyond (edited: oops, not Captain America). Dang, it stands up well. Good rock and roll. Google them and listen.

Re: QWAK,help needed :)

QWAK,Conk,Spent 20 years here at the DUCK NEST,hardly ever had any one to talk to so I started talking to my self off and on :confused_m::wub: It occured to me that was too much like being CRAZY so I started talking to ALL the living things, first it was dogs then cats and quickly spred to birds and snakes and EVEN TREES! I almost converted to becoming a DREWID!

Then I decided what I was realy doing was --- talking to GOD and I wasn't REALY crazy ---just little FRIED around the edges but BETTER for the experience and the ADVENTURE of it ALL!:hahaha::haha:

Actualy when I first started posting with an I-OPENER apliance I invested some FRNS in the company and met some one on line at the yahoo site for that company and she sugested an experiment of me a total new bee creating a simple web page to see IF the I-Opener could do IT and ME TOO!:s9:

I did a simple "Tripod account" and told a LOVE story that ended tracicly --- the story of Lonsome Girl (the dog) and Little Buck (the stag with one anteler) --- it WORKED and people injoyed te story and I started posting and NOT caring about my poor spelling as SOME people could see passed it to the GREATER MESAGE I was trying to share.:s1:

That is why I like to use U-Tube with many of my posts as it helps others FEEL ware I am coming from and NOW -- I want to MAKE MY OWN!

I made about every thing else here at the DUCK NEST so WHY NOT?:questionm:questionm

The web page was to help others see that IF I could do "IT" they could TOO and they could better injoy there I-OPENER!:thinkey:

It turned in to quite an ADVENTURE --- eventualy involving the FBI!:s1:

QWAK,Max,Hope this works as I just found somthing I thought was GONE with the crashed hard drive!:yippee::elefant::wavey:

When I bought all that SILVER from "NWTM" on my CREDIT CARD @4% for a YEAR and payed just under $7.00, I lined the "Soup Vat" hot tub with about 2500 OZ. of SILVER HAMMER rounds!

http://thumbp1.mail.re4.yahoo.com/tn...&f=545&fid=PIX 2006

It was an experiment to see if I could use the SILVER to treet the water in sted of using bleach. Ultimitly I got an OZONE generator and it works much better.

Just the same it was FUN walking on SILVER and siting on IT too!:D:haha:

HE HE HE IT WORKED!! It is small but it worked!

Flap Duck

Why that really IS one hazardous looking silver lined soup vat you got boiling away there! Do you use it for canning too? Love the life preserver!

I could see from the greenhouse room that you and I share a common decorative style.

I do like your stonework in it, did you do that?

Unfortunately the one on yahoo defeated me, so far anyway. My password bother again I told you about. I lose all these damn passwords for these places and am then, well so to speak up the Swanee.

Glad that storm passed you by. I do hope it does not do a lot of damage elsewhere.

Ever seen the movie 'Fly Away Home'?

QWAK,That room and all the rest came right out of the ground -- all I did was remove about a million years worth of dirt and clutter down to bed rock and stack up some of the stone with some morter in between!:s9:

The most amasing part you can not see.

There are deep cravases in the bed rock it self and that makes an artificial RIVER across the main room. It is about 18" wide over 3' deep with a sump on one end next to the old claw leg iron bath tub that is built in to another stone wall. The cravass makes a dog leg turn in front of that tub. The stone wall the tub is built in to also is a water fall in to the tub and there is a big 4'x8' sky light glass window above that tub. Actualy there are 3 water walls in the greengouse/bath -- I realy like water falls!

The REALY crazy part is I did NOT know the cravass was there when I doug a hole in the DIRT out side the cabin and put the tub in it!

I built the stone walls and the roof over the TUB ,sink and camode that were OUT SIDE the cabin! After all that I have been removing all the dirt and clutter down to bed rock!

I put red and orange ROPE LIGHTS in the cravass and at the end oposit the tub built a small warer fall also with rope lights. I can fill the cravass with water and pump water over to my water fall, turn on the rope lights and it sort of looks like LAVA flowing and you can look down in to the water flowing constently down the water fall and down the stream --- in the middle of MY bath room!:s9:

It was created by GOD -- not ME --I just cleared away the dirt, stacked the rock as seemed aproprate and TRICKED it out a bit with some gagits! I got a party SMOKE machean I want to rig up too, when I finely get things closed up -- hopfully this fall.

I've been in the real world all day. I have to deal with people who deal with Bernanke and Paulson in person in my 'real' life. It sucks... Once you scratch their VERY thin layer of false humility, they are egotistical to the max. I wish everyone could see politicians without their masks on for just ONE DAY. There would be armed revolution by morning...

I'd rather be with my 'peeps' from across the 'bond anyday.

Duck.

It all looks cool to me. Built just for you, by the Big Duck in the Sky, you just put in your own nice little touches.

You been talking to Avalon behind my back, pal, or vice versa? Yes or no? Will do. About a matter I privately asked your opinion on yesterday, or it was it just the big Duck you like so much catching up? I like Him best too:wink:

Because I DID talk to her after you could not advise on the matter, and her answer today just blew me away.:D

Mad people who like to fly and think they are geese?

Rear end car accidents! Don't they mean something like wake TFU?

GIM! What a mad house!:confused_ma:

So comforting.

WHO was that hero who said the other night

'There is history, there is science fiction and then there is GIM'.

OMG I was on the floor. I meant to bookmark that gem.

The Goose Nest is a very old place, Duck. Built about 1780 or so. Lovely place, rustic, very mildly stately in a low key sort of way, until I prepped myself into a corner in it.

Now? I am like I told TA prepped right into a corner in the Goose Nest. I put my back out about three weeks and can no longer move much stuff. No longer even TRY to hide it all. I mean it is hilarious. Yes and no.

My dear nice old farmer neighbour has long since guessed that I am well off my trolley. But even so, I did not want him to see all this. The sky high preps. I mean there is a limit to how many nuts you reveal. As I am sure SB would know. I am lucky in that he is a gold bug, hey, lads and lasses, I really got the Ace card dealt to me in terms of good neighbours! We relate! He is mildly attuned to the other squirrel aspects. At least I managed to convince him to put in OMG cords of wood into his barn. He took me seriously on that score beyond my wildest dreams I realized when I looked in yesterday.

Still, I did not bless him for asking me to help him out with the finishing touches on that yesterday. When I saw his barn and all the wood, I laughed. But I also realized fast, trying to help him, really how badly my back was out.

Re: QWAK,help needed :)

QWAK,Avalon,The walls are rock that came right out of the ground in front of the walls!

The hot tub room is 16'x12'.

It comes off one side of the main greenhouse/bath addition.

The addition extends right off of the south wall of the original cabin, the first part is 20'x24' with a flat roof, the green house part is 20'x22' but I am building a new walled off section on to that now that will add 12'x22'.

Got one more part to build that will be 12'x12' which will be for fire wood and the out side wood burning furnace that will heat the hot water and all of the cabin and green house. Back up propane infer red heat and I am most likely going to remove the home made wood burner for the hot tub and replace it with a propane FLASH tankless water heater.

I need two of me to get it all done --- that is why it has taken SOooooo LONG! LOL

I have a nice, nice, very cool biker in the UK friend too.

He don't know what to make of Uriel. He used to make me turn his icon around backwards when he came into my creep house in the UK, but he often reminded me that 'The Good Guys do not always wear white'.:D

It was him who made a brick wall of my ex mil Landie, in the miracle accident that saved a cyclist and child. He got a morning after D and D for doing it too. Though he was no where near in the wrong until he saw her coming.

His own Landie wear blacks too, and he, his Landie, is called Boris. (The Spider. of course, lads, guess that one is a no brainer, a rock climber.)

He is truly cool. Superb bloke.

The frequency is about every 3 days give or take and some times we don't get hit or only slightly. My point is that it IS sort of a VIBRATION I feel but so LOW it can not be heard but rater FELT over and inside my body. Low frequency vibration makes people feel UNCOMFORTABLE and to vrious extents sort of nausious perhaps even feel realy sick inside. Personaly I have got very little work acompished in the last fiew weaks, just can't get all 8 cilinders firing properly but no aparent reason why. (Just a personal observation from here.)

the DUCK

Quacker? I have been using the same radio signal for over eight years now. It never fails.

A friend incountry taught me this lesson: TRUST NO MAN, or woman or child.. Sorry to say, but even children are often are used as part of COMBAT due to the political stance of their parents. yes duck, even children get used by 'the powers that be'

My man from mindinao, murphy the viet nam vet, told me what really went down back in the Nam one fine morning while he was still an innocent (cherry) back in '68. He was on patrol and encountered a rice cache and the old lady in the hooch held up her granddaughter as a shield. They all got wasted...

Murphy, the big Irishman, was crying to me in his tekee hooch somewhere in the jungles of the lower Philippines when he told me his story back in '06. HIS STORY. I've heard them all...

My best friend from the Nam deserves a movie. A Minneapolis vet who spent two years (after his duty to this Nation was served) up north in mosquito / black bug country talking to nature. He had combat fatigue and only spoke with the wolfs and a bottle of booze. He was a fcking real life Rambo, He made Rambo look like some plastic character of himself. In real life, he would not even hurt a tinyest of flys that squatted on shit.

He felt he HAD to kill two commanding officers in Viet Nam. Friendlies?

His story starts on the farms of Minnesota. It ends in the rice patties after he killed his second commander in two month. He was the man who kept HIS squad alive and all the green lieutenants fresh from west point were clueless in the jungles of viet nam. God wrote the 'law of the jungle' where only beasts survive. My friend was the most kind hearted 'beast' you would ever meet, on this planet.

Long story short, he killed two commanding officers (in front of the whole squad) and called it sniper fire.

"Mr ***** you are court marshalled as soon as we get back to base." Instant reflex to protect the men, "Sir, You will never see 'our base' again" and killed him. To this northwoods vet as he told me HIS story, it was killing a deer and he gave me all the details. How the guts spill out.

After he killed the second rookie lieutenant who wanted him to march point on a booby trapped trail, they sent him home with 'combat fatigue'

He also saved 23 hurting men from 'water baskets'. Exactly like the kind you see in that movie, "Deer Hunter". 23 fvking men who were 'dead' he saved! He was a fukking US Army (drafted rather than go to jail) Ranger! He killed for sport. No one was better.

So, my vet friend is crying and telling me his story...

"Keef, the first time I killed an 'enemy combatant' I went behind a palm tree to puke and cry. My word, I was only 19 years old! Then I got 'used' to killing. Then??? I GOT OFF ON IT. It was better than sex, I couldn't get enough. It was in the middle of my second tour when they tapped me on the shoulder and sent me home.

In the middle of his second tour he was dismissed from duty.

I know you are reading this, Duck. I know your type. You are the best of the best. Not worthy of the spineless ***** geeks they push through West Point.

I helped my friend from Minneapolis last time I saw him. He was hauling girders for that new dome they were building in st paul. camp crap or something.. Is he my hero or saint? fck yes. if i was in a water basket, he was god.

He said the skin is very fragile when you are pulled out of a water basket. Then when the huey dusted off.. he said EVERY ONE OF THE RESCUE ES WENT GIDDY. They started laughing like little school girls as the rescue chopper took off, every SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Is this man a HERO or a JERK? You tell me.

He was on Paul Harvey news before the war. Very funny and almost worth it's own thread. He told me stories this forum is not worthy of...

Only God knows..

take care in the bush bro...

"The first shot went through his (american lieutenant) his shoulder. He looked around in suprize as the blood soiled his uniform. Then he died with a second shot to the heart."

Sniper fire they say.

His young men in the squad got back home to their valleys and farms, to their 'sweethearts' unharmed.

Has anyone on this forum even met a real life 'patriot'. I'd like to hear your story too....

duck? ur the only reason I post right now. i have given up on all other 'freindlies'

Ok, warlock, i will do this only for your squad. Do you want to see a 'real life' patriot? One who loves his country?????... well, I am a shill for harley davidson, but this man starts his knucklehead and pays tribute to some very fine people from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (where I get ALL my beer)

Here is a hero. Milwaukee salutes you, sir! This man and all like him made 'america' great once upon a time.

Save the sand niggers until I can afford a machine gun. thank you god.

Wisconsin? Iowa? Minneapolis? hahahaha, too good for this wall street looser country

QWAK,Keef,I feel your pain and depression, I realy do

Some times it's like I am walking in the vally of death with zombies all around me that I feed with my flesh yet some how some way I do not DIE I just keep moving, placing one foot in front of the other --- falling forwrd and catching my self befor hiting the ground.

The exhaustion is total yet some how there is more to give, it don't seem posable yet that IS how "IT" just IS!

My "NOTHING DAY" :questionm:questionm:questionm I placed 3 ORDERS and waited with my heart filled with ANTICIPATION of joy being delivered to OTHERS who had NO expectation of any thing other than just another day.

I waited two days and then another then went on line to follow the progress of what I had started:s9::applause_ 2 orders were on there way the 3rd some how was lost but still IT was OK as I imagined the happyness I was sharing.:yippee::9536:

On wed. the first arived the computer said DELIVERED:congrats::laugh: I waited to hear a happy voice I had not heard in a long time.

On friday the second DELIVERED and I remembered the voice I had not heard in over 25 years, the tone and tember that reverberated off invisable walls of halls I had walked alone for so long with just eccoes of the passed only I could hear.

No calls came --- :questionm:dontknow: I supose I remembered diferent then THEY did.:dontknow:

At first I was sad not realy mad just disapointed.

Then I realised I did what I did for MY SELF -- just because I could and I wanted to -- so "IT" was OK -- I had acomplished my GOAL if not my OBJECTIVE!:congrats:

If the result was NOT as EXPECTED the proplem was MINE for having EXPECTATIONS of OTHERS who had marched off, in other directions and had goals much diferent than my own and never realy understod WARE I was coming from -- or GOING to -- and -- that's OK because -- It's ALL about FREE WILL and FREE CHOICE and each must CHOSE what to SAY and DO --
what to THINK and BELIEVE, about EVERY THING ---even about ME!:s1:

So they will share meals with the ones they LOVE and that IS what I had intended -- and EVERY DAY is "NOTHING DAY" -- and I will move more MUD today -- just like I did yesterday.

Perhaps they WILL remember :dontknow: BUT I WILL and I will KNOW in the END -- "that" IS ALL that MATTERS!:thinkey::yes:

What WE do to and FOR others we realy do for OUR SELVES --- because "ALL is ONE" and having expectations OF others is seting one self up to be DISAPOINTED -- because the choices they make are seldome the choices we would make for OTHERS! :thinkey: :congrats:

It's ALL GOOD -- It's ALL GOD! "ALL is ONE" and it's NEVER realy OVER -- things just change.:congrats:

TRUTH!!

Each day they arise and pick up their basket of preferences and expectations. And each day, disappointment follows.

One can only do what "one" can do and that contributes positively or negatively to ALL. Severe the ties that bind.
